Vistaite Picture Jasper

In the 50's, 60's, and 70's the most beautiful, hardest to dig, hardest to find, and oh, did I mention drop-dead-georgous, picture jasper ever discovered in Oregon was found on the top of a ridge just outside of Prineville, OR. For you old timers, you know that I am talking about the rarest of all Oregon picture jaspers, VISTAITE! So rare in fact that many folks have never even heard of it, and for those that have, they have never seen a piece of this amazing stone. What makes this porcelain jasper so incredible are the colors that are captured in the wonderful patterns. This cab that Ken just finished is full of Teal Blue, Robin's Egg Blue, Sea-Foam Green, Emerald Green, Burgundy, and Cinnamon! WoW! The lazy watercolor pictures of lakes, oceans, big sky, rolling hills, and high mountains are amazing. This piece has no "potch", has a mirror shine, and is finished on both sides. Truly a gem grade jasper, and comes with the display stand pictured!

This large collector/designer-cut cabochon measures approx. 43.5mm x 38mm x 6.5mm and weighs approx 95cts.
