"The Sands of Time"

A Cabochon Project

A Holey Stones Production ©

I sand the stone on the 220 galaxy wheel until the shape is perfect and all the bushing and scratches are gone from the 80 grit rough out wheel. A uniform thorough job takes the entire surface off the stone and puts a new surface on. This is repeated on each of the wheels as I progress. I go from the hard 220 to the 140 soft wheel to the 280 grit soft, then to the 600 grit, on to the 1200 grit, and finally the 3000 grit. Completely resurfacing the stone on each wheel. Time is not of the essence here, the more thorough a job the better the final result.
